How do you run? Are you a WINNER?

Well here goes another blogging site..My name is Priscilla Choate, some people just call me Choate, I was an early grad. senior at Cookeville High School this year and started my wonderful journey to Tennessee Tech this past Fall for a Nursing degree, something I feel God told me I needed to do, with a minor in Counseling to come after. Last night we had a bacc. service for all 2010 Senior at ATMS, the speaker talked about being a winner and the steps it takes to be a winner, You have to RUN. You have to want to win the race and do everything in your power to make it. We are not talking about a race in life, yet you do run it in life, we are talking about a race you run in order to see our heavenly father. He talked about how when you are running your race, you do have people watching you. He said "some will join the race because of the way you run." This means that us "Christians"--people are watching us, like a clock, all day long. When we have a tragedy happen in our workplace, our school, our friends, and yes...even our family... people are watching how we react to our situation.. He added that "You never know who will join the race(God's Kingdom) because of the way you run in your most desperate times." People are looking for strength and someone who can be real and know that at the end everything is going to be okay, they are looking for someone stable and able to cope with not only their problems but help carry some of theirs. They need compassion and love, strength and encouragement. Im not saying everyday you are going to feel like being the strong person, we all know thats not true, and by no means are we perfect, im just saying watch how you run your race because it can and will affect others. Some of us and im including myself, have been so caught up in graduation, college, jobs, kids...and many other life contributions that we have started walking, stopped, or maybe sat down in our race...and we need to get up because we have people watching us, and its not only affecting them but its affecting us also. We are missing out on the grace and love that our father has for us each and every morning. Just a little encouragement for your day. More to come. These three remain faith, hope, and love but the greatest of these is love. -1 Cor. 13:13.
